My name is George Lee. I was born in Ireland but I have lived and worked in the UK, Germany and Hong Kong before retiring to Queensland, Australia. I have been married to Maren, who is Norwegian, for 46 years and we have two children and three grandchildren.
I have been a pilot for most of my life, having flown Phantoms in the Royal Air Force until the age of 38 and then B747s for Cathay Pacific Airways for fifteen years based in Hong Kong. I have been a glider pilot for 52 years and in 1981 became the first person in history to win three consecutive World Gliding Championships titles.
I am a Christian and my faith is central to my life. Maren shares my faith and we are Elders (Church Leaders) in a small but close-knit church in Dalby, our nearest town.
I have had a full, blessed life so far and I look forward to what lies ahead in the years to come. I am excited to have had the opportunity to write my autobiography entitled “Hold Fast to Your Dreams” which is now available through Amazon and bookshops globally, as well as through this website for customers in Australia and New Zealand.
